Joe Murphy has been playing drums for over
seventeen years. His music Education background includes studies
at Chamberlain High School graduating with Music Honors and
Berklee College of Music. Joe's private studies were under
Gary Chafee, Bob Gollotti, Gil Graham, Dom Famularo, Kenny
Aronoff, Lee Venters and Joe Porcaro.
During his career as a drummer, Joe has enjoyed playing all
styles of drumming. He has been involved with local and regional
live performances such as Drivin' Blind, Wildheart, Monster
Ago-go, Ouch, The Bob Thompson Band, Grin, Mother Wit, House
of Joy and currently with Dana Kamide Band, Motel Funk and
Joe's original project Star Baby.
Through the years, Joe has developed a wealth of knowledge
about drumming and drumming techniques. He enjoys Teaching
all styles of music such as rock, jazz, Latin, and funk. He
also enjoys teaching all levels from beginners, intermediate,
and professionals.

Joe recorded a full length CD in LA at the
Silver Cloud Studios with Star Baby. The CD is being produced
by Dito Godwin, who helped such acts as - No Doubt, Kiss,
Peter Criss, Motley Crue, Warrant, and Great White. Jerry
Martini of Sly and the Family Stone, will be providing funky
horns on the CD.
